[Windows 10] Change Installation Directory during Setup (Version 1.12.4481)
At my company we have a product called McAfee Host Intrusion Prevention installed on our workstations. When running Toolbox it logs and blocks the following activities.
- jetbrains-toolbox.exe "Prevent EXE files from Running in Application Data folder"
- jetbrains-toolbox.exe "Prevent DLL files from Running in User Profile Folder"
- jetbrains-toolbox-cef.exe "Prevent DLL files from Running in User Profile Folder"
Obviously there isn't anything that you can do about this horrible product blocking your apps functionality, but there are "safe" directories that applications can be installed to which isn't monitored. I was able to get our admins to temporarily disable (it only lasts for 24 hours) to start Toolbox and change the install location for the JetBrain IDE's, but I couldn't find a way to change the installation directory of Toolbox.
Is there a way change the installation directory from %LOCALAPPDATA% to a user specified directory during setup?
Thanks!

Our IT just disabled all AppData executables. It would be really nice for us corporate types to support installation somewhere else.
Agreed, this is a very irritating limitation - 99% of applications allow a customized installation location - why not allow it here?
Agreed - I expect there to be a deluge of people who would love the ability to do this as similar restrictions are rolled out across other companies.
