cannot open gitlab projects from browser

I am having problems with opening projects from GitLab (checked this with 2 self hosted instances) in FireFox (97.0.1 (64-bit)). The icons for the appropriate JB application are not visible. I tried it in MS Edge (on Windows 10), and it did not work there either. I tried changing owner and visibility (private/internal/public) and changing the checkout method (SSH or HTTPS) - The options do not appear.
The toolbox app itself seems to work - if i access any repository in GitHub, the buttons/icons show up and work as expected.
Does anyone have the same problems ? any suggestions how to fix this?
